PSP Chapter 9: Voyeur

Shen Qingcheng, who was ruthlessly thrown away, held his fingers and whimpered.
He suddenly realized that that action seemed familiar.
Hadn’t he just done the same thing in the security office that morning?

My god, what an ill-fated hand!

Lu Qi checked each bathroom stall with a cold expression, finding nothing abnormal, so he focused on the place where the ghost had disappeared–a mirror attached to the wall–and frowned.

The mirror was unremarkable, and the back of the knife made a crisp sound when knocked on it, but the ghost had disappeared from it.
Lu Qi considered it, and then smashed the mirror with all his strength.

The shattered mirror didn’t fall, but stuck to the wall in shards.
Stinking black blood spilled out of the cracks.

The temperature of the already cool bathroom dropped several degrees because of the bloody smell.

Shen Qingcheng almost felt bad for Zhou Xiaohui when he saw that.
Breaking the mirror wouldn’t cause any harm to Zhou Xiaohui, but he had wiped his own blood on the mirror, and it had opened up…

Chen Ge quickly moved away from where he had been standing beside the mirror, hiding beside Shen Qingcheng.
He craned his neck and asked, “Lu-ge, did you defeat it?”

He was so powerful that he could even hurt a ghost!

And he must’ve exchanged for knives–attack props!

In Chen Ge’s mind, except for those with novice daggers, anyone who dared to give up defensive props in order to wield attack props was a big bos.

“No.” Lu Qi said.

He knew how fast he was.
If the opponent had been able to run away from right under his nose, they probably hadn’t planned to fight in the first place.

“What happened just now?” He asked Shen Qingcheng.

Shen Qingcheng blinked, his face flushed.

Why this reaction? Lu Qi wondered, “What’s wrong?”

Shen Qingcheng snorted uncontrollably: “It’s just–when I was pissing, she suddenly poked her head out of the wall.
Ying¹, it was very scary.”

Chen Ge clutched at his heart.
Was he saying that if it hadn’t happened at that time, Shen-ge wouldn’t have been scared at all?!

Shen Qingcheng: “Even the fright wasn’t enough to bring me down, but I don’t have a partner–who am I supposed to go to bed with²?”

“!” The hand that was gripping at his chest moved silently to cover his mouth.

“Don’t bring up irrelevant topics,” Lu Qi interrupted the two of them coldly, staring at Shen Qingcheng.
“Then what.”

Shen Qingcheng: “The female ghost ran away after scaring me.
Then I finished urinating nervously, zipped up my zipper, and walked to the sink to wash my hands.”

Lu Qi: “…just tell us the important parts.”

“The important part is that that female ghost ran out to scare me while I was washing my hands!” Shen Qingcheng said angrily, “She’s so shameless! Peeping at me pissing already did a lot of damage to my boyish heart, and then she even peeped at me washing my hands!”

Lu Qi’s eyebrows didn’t move at all.
“Well, how did your hand get hurt?”

“I was so scared that I clipped my hand on the mirror.”

“So the female ghost was just spooking you from beginning to end.”

Shen Qingcheng looked at him innocently.
“Lu-dage, thanks for saving me from the devil’s clutches on time.
Otherwise, she wouldn’t have stopped at just scaring me.”

Lu Qi gave him an unreadable look, turned to leave, and said, “I found Qi Mei and Zhou Xiaohui’s files.”

“Lu-dage is awesome!” Shen Qingcheng cheered.
He followed behind the other man, slapping the broken mirror again as if venting his anger as he stepped out.

Black blood suddenly gushed out of the gap that had stopped bleeding for a moment, but no one saw it.

【 There was a shadow in the security office, no way that there’d also be a child slamming the door in the archive room, right? 】

【 I’m different from you guys, I’m still reminiscing on the quarrel behind God 7 and Beauty.
“Last night and tonight”–they're arguing like elementary schoolers, lighting a cigarette³ 】

【 God 7, you’ve been set up! 】

【 Zezeze⁴, “Stay there obediently”.
Everyone heard that tone of voice, helplessly pampering.

【 I’m really in awe of you CP fans, you can hit anything, aren’t you afraid to break your teeth? 】

【 No, you don’t understand! Thank you, Beauty, for giving my family’s God 7 the chance to appear on camera! 】

【 Thank you, Beauty, for giving my family’s God 7 the chance to appear on camera! 】

【 Thank you, Beauty, for giving my family’s God 7 the chance to appear on camera! 】

【 Ahhhhhhhhh quickly call out, call out for Lu-gege! 】

【 I don’t care about what you think, I just want what I believe.
God 7 definitely likes hearing Beauty call him Lu-gege the most! 】

【 I announce that the “poignant⁵” cp is locked today! I swallowed the key.

【 When upstairs⁶ said poignant, I thought of Qi Mei⁷… 】

【 Don’t do this, I can almost see it now… 】

【 Beauty found Qi Mei’s photo.
Damn, this woman with a beauty mole looks quite good! 】

【 ! Zhou Xiaohui is too disgusting.
One in front and one behind, what kind of fucking stinky flower is this? 】

【 Help, these photos are horrible! 】

【 Don’t go to the bathroom by yourself, I’m begging you to bring God 7 with you, there are ghosts here! 】

【 Ahhhhhhhh 】

【 Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh 】

【 I feel bad for Beauty.
I told you to call for God 7 earlier! 】

【 ? 】

【 ?? 】

【 ??? 】

【 What’s going on, why is Beauty's blood disappearing when it’s smeared on the mirror? 】

【 How did Beauty pull a ghost out of a mirror with his bare hands? 】

【 Why’s the female ghost look scared of Beauty? 】

【 What’s the matter, have I entered the wrong livestream? 】

【 … 】

【 Ah, God 7 is here… 】

【 Beauty begging for huhu… 】

【 What’s with this feeling of having been cheated… 】

In the corridor, Shen Qingcheng said fearfully: “Fortunately, you came to the bathroom, or I might have lost my innocence!”

“We came specifically to find you, Shen-ge.” Chen Ge said quietly.

Shen Qingcheng: “Huh?”

Chen Ge: “Lu-ge commented that you were taking a long time, and I was worried.”

“Go back to the archive room to see if there’s anything missing,” Lu Qi interjected, slipping past them and leaving.

His body was perfectly proportional, even his back seemingly having been carved by a master, exuding hormones.
Shen Qingcheng withdrew his gaze, looking at Chen Ge questioningly.

“…” Lu Qi was clearly worried that he would encounter something like Bai Yi, but Lu-ge didn’t seem to want Shen-ge to know.
He shouldn’t mess with their affairs.

Chen Ge swallowed the words he was going to say.
“It’s nothing.”

Shen Qingcheng rolled his eyes at him and turned to chase after Lu Qi.
“Lu Qi, you still haven’t told me about what was in Qi Mei’s file!

“And the knife you just took out, did you get it from the mall? It looks cool, but I didn’t see it when I was there.”

“Shut up, you’re noisy.”

“It’s okay–after all, I don’t scorn you for talking less, do I?”

Why did Shen-ge keep teasing Lu-ge? Because of love? But it really didn’t seem like Shen-ge liked Lu-ge.

Chen Ge’s thoughts were so tangled that his head hurt.

They couldn’t find any more valuable information in the archives, and they didn’t have much time left.
If they worked fast, maybe they could explore one more place.
After a quick discussion, they decided to leave.

Actually, it wasn’t really a discussion.

Lu Qi: “Let’s go to the infirmary.”

Chen Ge responded immediately, “Okay!”

Shen Qingcheng: “No, I’m tired.”

“Shen-ge, Shen-ge,” Chen Ge pulled him aside, “the later it gets in the copy, the more dangerous it is, so it’s best to solve the storyline as fast as possible to end it.
Right now, we have Lu-ge with us, so we’re much safer.”

He lowered his voice, continuing, “Lu-ge exchanged for attack props–a rarity among players.
Looking at his behavior, it’s likely he’s a big boss.
We have to seize this opportunity!”

Shen Qingcheng sighed heavily.
He’d said he’d hug his thigh, but then he turned away to check out another man.

“?”

Chen Ge: “Shen-ge?”

Shen Qingcheng patted him on the shoulder, smiling heroically, and said, “Your vision is very good.”

? Was this a compliment?

He didn’t agree, but didn’t protest either.
On the way to the infirmary, Chen Ge dutifully dictated Qi Mei and Shou Xiaohui’s information, hoping to arouse his interest.

“Qi Mei and Zhou Xiaohui were from the same rural town.
Zhou Xiaohui graduated from a third-rate college, while Qi Mei only completed a high school education.

“Lu-ge and I both think it’s pretty weird.
This is a private kindergarten.
It makes sense that Zhou Xiaohui was hired, since she’s only an archives staff member who deals with very little technical content, but how did Qi Mei become a teacher with only a high school diploma?”

The selling point of private schools was their better teaching environment and better teachers.
A high school diploma wasn’t very good, nor was it possible to really get teaching resources after graduating from high school.

It would definitely cause trouble if the parents found out.

“One more thing.
Qi Mei joined a year earlier than Zhou Xiaohui.”

They could reasonably assume Qi Mei had introduced Zhou Xiaohui to her job.

Shen Qingcheng: “So you’re saying Qi Mei came in through a back door?”

The three of them were walking down the classroom corridors.
The sun was shining brightly outside, the light reflecting off the floor tiles and blinding them.
Shen Qingcheng looked down, thinking about Chen Ge’s words.
Suddenly, he bumped into someone.

“Why did you stop so suddenly?” He rubbed his forehead, complaining, “Lu Qi, your shoulders are too hard.”

Lu Qi ignored him, and he began escalating.
“You count how many injuries I’ve gotten while following you! Two on my hands, one on my forehead.
You promised to protect me, security guard-dage!”

Lu Qi: “I didn’t say that.”

Shen Qingcheng responded promptly, “Then do you admit that you caused all the injuries on my body?”

Ahem, ahem.
Meng Tianhai coughed twice to remind them of his existence.
After an afternoon apart, Shen Meiren was still so open with his words…

On hearing him, Shen Qingcheng dropped his hand and looked over Lu Qi’s shoulder.
There were two people across the corridor, namely Meng Tianhai and Liu Zimei.

It seemed that after Bai Yi’s death, all of them had chosen to move in teams.

He greeted, “Good afternoon.” Amazingly, Zhou An’an must’ve teamed up with Xue Tong.

The honest Liu Zimei unconsciously smiled, while Meng Tianhai glanced at Lu Qi and asked, “Are you going to the infirmary?”

Lu Qi: “En.”

Meng Tianhai: “We just came from there.”

How courageous.
Bai Yi had died in the bathroom of that infirmary just that morning.
Shen Qingcheng watched the two people on the other side of the corridor, focusing on Meng Tianhai.

Meng Tianhai considered for a second.
“Would you like to trade information?”

TLN:

¹ Ying (嘤) is a crying onomatopoeia.

² (吓萎倒不至于,不过我还没对象,跟谁上、床去) Not completely sure I translated that right, but yeah, it’s a sex joke.

³ Probably riffing off of how Chinese netizens use “lighting a candle” the same way English speaking netizens might use “f” or “rip”.

⁴ Ze (啧) is a tsk-ing onomatopoeia.

⁵ Poignant (凄美) is a combination of Lu Qi and Shen Meiren’s names.

⁶ Upstairs (楼上) is the previous poster.
In the same vein, floor 1 is OP, floor 2 is the second poster, so on and so forth.

⁷ Remember, Qi Mei (齐美) shares a character (美) with Shen Meiren.
Qi (齐) and the first character in poignant, Qi (凄) also sound similar, although the intonation is different.
