Coming to the Demon’s Rescue (6)

“Anna, you danced so well!” Natalie exclaimed.

Anna said: “Really? Raymond led it well.
If I had a different dance partner, I’m afraid I wouldn’t have been able to dance so well.”

“Really…” Natalie sighed again, and then whispered, “Did my brother invite you to dance just now? Fortunately, you rejected him! He is very annoying, always saying that I waste my family’s money… …even if that’s true.”

Anna rubbed Natalie’s head and said, “How is it true? Once you become a one-star mage, what does it matter to spend a bit of money? You can earn it back in minutes!”

Natalie’s eyebrows curved into a sweet smile, “Anna, you’re right! I can definitely earn back all the money my family spent on me!”

“Good ambition!” Anna smiled and took Natalie’s hand.
“I’m almost exhausted after dancing two dances in a row.
Let’s go eat something.”

Each dance song here was ten minutes long.
Anna danced for half an hour, and her mouth was dry.

Anna and Natalie walked to the buffet table.
Anna poured herself a glass of juice to drink.
When she turned around, she saw that Natalie was drinking an emerald green drink, which looked delicious, so she couldn’t help asking:”What’s this?”

The color was a bit like the apple-flavored Sprite she used to drink in the college cafeteria, which was appetizing.

Natalie hiccupped and looked around embarrassedly before she said, “It’s green plum wine, it’s delicious, would you like to try it?”

“You’re drinking at such a young age!” Anna was shocked.

Natalie hurriedly said, “No, I’m not… By the way, I’m an adult today!”

“You’re an adult at the age of fifteen?” Anna was even more shocked.

“Yeah?” Natalie was also confused.

Anna was silent.
She remembered that in fact, the commoners in Blue Rock City did not have a rigid law of whether they were adults or not.
Those with money in the family could keep their daughters for a while longer.
The poorer families would hurry to wed off their daughter so that she could go eat some other family’s rice.
As a result, the span of a maiden’s age of marriage was very long.

In Black Cloud City, because it was common sense for a woman to be an adult at the age of fifteen, of course Natalie never mentioned it to Anna, and Anna had never been able to learn this bit of knowledge.
Even though she knew that Natalie’s father was already planning her marriage, whether or not she was an adult and whether she could get married were two different things.

Anna walked over and picked up Natalie’s glass of green plum wine, swirling it gently.
It was crystal clear and jelly-like, very beautiful.

“Is it really that delicious?”

Natalie nodded vigorously: “Yes! And there’s very little alcohol in it, so you can’t get drunk at all!” She paused and whispered, “I’ve secretly drunk it before, I wouldn’t lie to you.”

Anna was a little curious.
She didn’t get another cup, instead, saying to Natalie, “Then let me have a sip?”

“Go ahead!” Natalie looked at Anna expectantly.
She thought it was good, so she wanted Anna to taste it.
If Anna also thought it was good, she would be super happy!

Just as Anna was about to bring the wine glass to her mouth, a hand stretched out and grabbed the wine glass from her hand.

Anna looked, stunned, at the demon who stole the wine glass, and asked after a long time, “Is there poison in the wine?”

Hearing Anna’s question, Natalie’s face turned pale.
Just as she was about to say that it was definitely not poisonous and that she would be alright, she heard “Mage Raymond” say, “I don’t want to take a drunk person back home.”

Natalie wanted to say that you really couldn’t get drunk off this wine and that she could also take Anna home, but “Raymond” suddenly gave her a sidelong glance, and she shuddered and took back the words that were at the tip of her tongue.

Anna raised her hand and gestured: “I’ll only take a sip, I won’t get drunk.”

Rothgarr looked stern: “Not even a sip.”

He casually handed the wine glass back to Natalie, only looking at Anna: “Have you had enough? It’s time to go back.”

Anna glanced at the clock hanging in the hall.
It was only a little after ten o’clock.
Generally, banquets did not end until the early morning of the next day.

“I want to stay with Natalie for a while,” Anna said.

Hearing Anna’s words, Rothgarr’s face sank.

In the end, it turned out that the ones who would affect him and Anna’s relationship were not only the men who were easily fascinated by Anna, but also Natalie.

Just now he saw that Anna wanted to drink directly from the glass that Natalie drank, and the side she was going to drink from happened to be the one that Natalie had drank from, and there was even a very light red mark on it, and he stopped her almost without thinking about it.

Maybe Anna didn’t mean anything else to Natalie, but he didn’t like it, and he wanted to stop it.

And now, she said, she still wanted to accompany Natalie.

“Stay a little longer? Fine.” Rothgarr held out his hand to Anna.
“I also want to dance a few more times.”

How many more times! She didn’t even have it in her to dance once more!

Anna thought that the demon’s move was a ‘perish together’ kind of tactic.
He obviously didn’t like to have physical contact with her, but because she refused to go back, he threatened her with dancing.

If she really agreed to dance with him, it would really do neither of them good.

It was just that, she didn’t understand why he used such a method that would benefit no one.
Was it…because of Natalie? Did he not want Natalie to take up so much of her time and energy that he wouldn’t have time to “get to know” her?
