The Magnos

In the beginning, there was nothing. Not even darkness existed at this point in time. Only a void space of non-existence. From this nothingness came forth the first of the gods. Their name was Revel, the embodiment of the beginning and the end.

It is from Revel everything began to come into being. The god had too much power and it began to ooze out of his being. This excess power gathered and formed the universe, filling the void with life. Revel saw what he could do without trying and decided to create more things to fill the ocean of stars.

Revel created planets and moons, galaxies and solar systems. The universe was quickly filled to the brim. The god did not stop his work there. He created life on these planets and these life forms began to thrive and grow and live amongst themselves in harmony. With his creation blooming the divinity retracted itself from the universe and went into a slumber.

Absent from the affairs of the mortal creations, they began to evolve beyond the expectations he had. Certain creatures amongst them developed intelligence and began to evolve above the rest. From them, the first civilizations were born. Though their god was absent, his presence still remained in the forces that controlled the universe. Few mortals learned to harness this power, altering reality with its power.

Some of the mortals wielding the power could never control it to the extent of the first god, so they decided to make themselves gods. Certain mortals whose thirst for power was insatiable infused themselves with the power of Revel. The ascended their mortality and became the new gods. The new gods reigned over the the universe, commanding it with an iron grasp. They established a domain for themselves on a separate planet and named it the Helm of Eternity. The cruelty the new gods demanded to be done in their name put the Universe in a state of unrest. The mortal creatures suffered and pleaded for a saviour to come and liberate them from the tyrants who had dominion over them. Fortunately, their cries did not go unheard.

The crisis of the inhabitants of the universe stirred Revel partially from his slumber. Though he was not fully awake and could not affect the worlds directly, he could assign the role to another. His consciousness began to scour the stars in search of a righteous creature who he could choose to be his emissary. The true God came upon a man who despised the gods with every fibre of his existence. Revel bestowed this man with a fraction of his power and sent him to bring down the new gods.

Joined with a fraction of Revels power, the Emissary made his way to the Helm of Eternity. The new gods stood no chance against such an extent of divine power. They were defeated almost immediately. However, due to the amount of the true gods power they had they were immortal. The Emissary lacked the power to remove their godhood and decided to seal them away in the farthest corners of the universe.

With his purpose served, he returned the power he received back to Revel. The Emissary gathered a group of the most trust worthy people he knew and they guarded the sealed grounds of the new gods from those who would wish to release them and erased all that remained of the false divines.

As eons passed, even the tales of the true God, his emissary and the new divines were forgotten as the universe entered a new era.
